The psychologist is contracted to most medical aids, but there are currently no standard or prescribed rates, so the psychologists’ fees are based on an average rate that most medical aids will cover. If you have funds available, the medical aid will pay me directly.

The psychologist charge R1050.00 per 55-minute session, which falls within the limits of the recommended fees of Healthman. This fee is for Therapeutic interventions and/or Assessments. The assessment time will depend on the reason for the assessment as the assessment battery is only selected once a full initial interview has been conducted. 

A full scholastic assessment, school readiness assessment or career assessment requires between 6-9 hours in total. Other types of assessments, such as emotional assessments, subject choice assessments etc. can be shorter. Please enquire about the number of hours the assessment you require will take. Rates will apply per hour.

Please note that Career assessments and Subject choice assessments can not be claimed from the medical aid. 

The psychologist charge R640.00 per 55-minute session for study skills. Please note that this fee is not covered by medical aids.
