My Publications
ACTA CRIMINOLOGICA: SOUTHERN JOURNAL OF CRIMONOLOGY 30(2)/2017 An Exploratory study into the levels of fear of crime reported within an online community platform based in Centurion.
I am a registered Educational Psychologist in Centurion, Pretoria.
I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (Reg no: PS 014 5157) as well as with the Board of Healthcare Funders of South Africa (Practice no: 0869589).

Prior to finding my love for the field of psychology, I was in the corporate and legal banking industry for approximately 10 years. Through my love of volunteer work with disadvantaged youth, I became passionate about becoming an Educational Psychologist. I published my first article on my honour’s thesis in 2017 with my honour’s supervisor Dr Fynn.

I completed my practicum hours at Louis Botha and Jacaranda Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) in Pretoria, where I mostly worked with children and adolescents who have experienced complex trauma, attachment difficulties and substance abuse difficulties. I then went on to complete my internship year at a Private High School in Centurion, where I mostly worked with adolescents experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, eating-related disorders, trauma, and substance use challenges.

During my formal training years, I completed training in Ericksonian and Ego State Hypnotherapy through the Milton H. Erickson Institutes of South Africa, working with children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, I am a trained BWRT therapist.

I have a special place in my heart for the field of academia and research, as it is only through learning that we can find ways to grow and become all that we can be. I have been a part-time lecturer at the South African College of Applied Psychology since 2018. I have been supervising honours students in Psychology for their research thesis since 2018 and Masters students in Community Psychology for research from 2020 at the South African College of Applied Psychology. I currently also work as an external clinical supervisor for the University of Johannesburg.

I was on the Executive Committee of the Society for Educational Psychology of South Africa, a division of The Psychological Society of South Africa from October 2017 – February 2019. I was an Exco Member of the Educational Psychology Association of South Africa (EPASSA) and also served on the Advocacy Committee since the beginning of 2020 and was co-opted to serve on the Ethics Committee since April 2020.

I presented at the International Conference on Psychology in July 2021 in Prague, Czech Republic (online).

“There is no failure, only feedback”.

I find it inspiring to guide individuals in finding the keys that help unlock their potential and future. I believe all individuals have potential that can be identified and developed. It provides me with comfort knowing there are methods available to assist individuals in personal development and self-understanding.

I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education: Foundation Phase and Early Childhood Development in 2014 and worked as an educator for ten years. I have gained a lot of insight, perspective and knowledge in my years of being an educator. I believe that my contributions to Educational/ Scholastic Assessments are unique and focused because of my understanding of the education system and insight into the students' world.

I have a special interest in career and subject choice assessments. I enjoy guiding individuals when it comes to making decisions about their dreams, goals and passions.
